When should we take out wedding insurance?

As soon as you make any bookings or pay any deposits towards your wedding. However, we do not accept applications less than 7 days before the date of your wedding.

What happens if the wedding is cancelled?

If you have to cancel your wedding, we will pay for any expenses you are unable to recover. The limits depend on which level of cover you have chosen.

What happens if the venue is unable to hold the wedding or reception?

We will pay for any expenses you are not able to recover if you have to cancel the wedding or reception, or re-arrange with another venue.

What happens if the wedding or reception has to be cancelled or re-arranged because of illness, injury or death of someone involved in the wedding?

We will pay for cancellation or re-arrangement costs when a member of the wedding party is affected, subject to the policy terms and conditions.

What happens if my dress is lost, stolen or damaged before I get married?

We will pay for a replacement dress or dress hire charges.

What happens if my wedding ring or presents are damaged at the reception?

We will pay for the loss or damage by any cause to the wedding presents or wedding rings, during a period of 7 days prior to the wedding and 24 hours following the reception. We also cover wedding cakes and flowers in the same way.

Does the cover for wedding presents include money and vouchers?

Yes it does.

What happens if the photographs do not come out?

We will pay up to the limit shown in the table of limits to retake the wedding photographs or video due to non-development of the original film or negatives. This extends to non-appearance for any reason of the professional photographer booked.

What happens if any of our suppliers go bankrupt?

We will pay for any expenses you are not able to recover and additional costs in arranging equivalent services following the bankruptcy or liquidation of any supplier booked to supply any wedding service.

What happens if the cars do not turn up?

We will pay deposits you are not able to recover, plus any additional costs in arranging equivalent transport, provided there was a written contract with the original company.

What would happen if we damaged the marquee?

We pay up to amount shown in the table of limits, for any accidental loss or damage to the marquee caused by you or your guests. Please note, marquee cover is not included in Gold cover.

What happens if a guest trips on a guy rope and injures himself or herself?

We will pay up to the amount shown in the table of limits, towards your legal liability in such an event.

The wedding venue requires proof of my liability insurance, what should I do?

Your certificate of insurance will show that you are covered for your legal liabilities to third parties up to the amount shown in the table of limits.

Do you cover civil partnership ceremonies?

Yes, we insure civil partnerships in exactly the same way as other marriage ceremonies.
