- Please note
- We are unable to provide climbing insurance if you are already overseas; if you are climbing within Australia or if you are over 65 years at the time of taking out the policy.
- We are not in a position to provide climbing cover in the Antarctic/Arctic.
- We must receive your application for climbing insurance at least 3 business days before you leave Australia.
Standard Rock Climbing Plan
If you have a minimum of one years climbing experience, we can cover you for:
- All Sports climbs
- Abseiling
- Bouldering
Maximum height - 3,500 metres.
The Standard Rock Climbing Plan includes these extras if you take out the excel plus insure4less travel insurance policy, (subject to the policy terms and conditions):
- Search & Rescue limit increased to $50,000
- Loss or damage to baggage increased to $7,500.
- Total limit per valuable $1,500
- Maximum per item, pair or set increased to $1,000.

Alpine Climbing Plan
If you have a minimum of two years climbing experience, we can cover you for all climbing activities including:
- Traditional rock climbing
- Sport rock climbing
- Mountaineering
- Ice climbing
- Glacier climbing
- Bouldering
- Trekking (with ropes, picks or other specialist climbing equipment)
- Abseiling
Maximum height - 6,500 metres
The Alpine Climbing Plan includes these extras if you take out the excel plus insure4less travel insurance policy, (subject to the policy terms and conditions)

This is how it works....
- Simply complete and submit the online climbing application form (click here) at least 3 business days before you leave Australia. Please note we require a separate application for each climber. Once we have this information we will email you confirming:
- Whether we can insure you and if so,
- The price for adding cover to your policy.
If you wish to proceed on this basis, we will ask you to email us back when you have bought your normal insure4less travel insurance, advising us
- Of your certificate number
- We will then advise how to pay your additional premium.
